Saudi Aerospace Connect Forum
We are excited to share that our Director, Dr Ayman Abdallah, participated as a speaker in the Saudi Aerospace Connect Forum. He joined the panel discussion on "Unlocking Human Capital Potential in Aerospace", exploring strategies to educate, train, and retain essential talent in the sector.
The forum also highlighted Saudi Arabia’s commitment to advancing its aerospace and defense sectors, fostering innovation, and strengthening strategic partnerships for future growth.
It was a privilege to contribute to these important discussions shaping the future of aerospace exploration.

Lifting-Wing Multicopter Control seminar
On February 17, 2025, the Interdisciplinary Research Center for Aviation and Space Exploration (IRCASE) hosted an enriching seminar on Lifting-Wing Multicopter Control, presented by Prof. Quan Quan from Beihang University, China. The seminar focused on advanced control techniques for lifting-wing multicopters and provided valuable insights into UAVs and autonomous flight systems.
Prof. Quan, a pioneer in multicopter control and author of the CX program's UAV textbook, shared his expertise, making the session a fantastic learning opportunity for all attendees. The seminar not only deepened our understanding of cutting-edge drone technology but also highlighted the future potential of autonomous flight systems.

Quanser Cyber-Physical Systems Workshop
IRC-ASE held an event on Feb 5 tiled “KFUPM-Quanser Workshop on Cyber-Physical Systems”. The event was co-sponsored and funded by industry (Atlab and Quanser companies), and focused on introducing research/teaching equipment from Quanser to academicians from GCC and KFUPM. We have used these equipment related to control systems and autonomous programmable vehicles, and are trying to create a scientific regional community around these systems. Our guests were faculty and department heads from all over GCC (7 from Qatar, Kuwait and UAE; 20+ from KSA universities). Attendees received hands-on demos and networking meetings, and were very engaged and impressed. All expenses regarding guest accommodation, gifts, banners, etc. were from the companies, and the event was held in IRC-ASE’s new premises in the old consulate. The recorded sessions will also be published on our YouTube for KFUPM stakeholders.
Highlights from the Event:
Participants gained hands-on experience with advanced systems.
Skills in control systems, robotics, and automation were enhanced.
Experts from KFUPM and Quanser collaborated with attendees.
The event fostered a community shaping the future of aviation and space exploration.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed to making this workshop a success!
